Bette Midler (1 December 1945) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, author, and comedian. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and began het professional career in several Broadway plays in the late 1960s. During the 1970s she began to sing in a local gay bathhouse where she managed to build up a core following. Since then she has released 14 studio albums as a solo artist whilst selling over 30 million records worldwide.
On top of all of this, she has received four Gold, three Platinum and three Multiplatinum albums by RIAA. All thanks to some of her top hits for example ‘The Rose,’ ‘Wind Beneath My Wings,’ and ‘Do You Want to Dance.’ Midler has also won four Golden Globe Awards, three Grammy Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards and one Tony Award
