Joan Jett (5 August 1980) is an American rock singer, songwriter, musician and actress, in the music business for over 40 years. She is best known for her work in her band ‘Joan Jett & the Blackhearts,’ and for performing with the ‘Runaways,’ the teen girl rockers of the 70s which recorded and released the hit song ‘Cherry Bomb.’

Her drive was to keep playing and singing no matter the consequences. With this motivation, it also led up to her reaching number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1996 with her version of the song “I Love Rock ‘n Roll.” Other hit songs include, “Bad Reputation” and “Light of Day.”
