Memphis Minnie, born Lizzie "Kid" Douglas, in New Orleans on June 3, 1897 was an American blues singer, composer, songwriter and guitarist.

Both her compositions and her performances quickly made her famous in America, in part because she was one of the few dark-skinned women involved in this music at the time. She recorded 200 songs, the best known being "Bumble Bee", "Nothing in Rambling",and "Me and My Chauffeur Blues".

She died at the age of 76 and was buried in DeSoto County.
